Orientation and enrollment checklist
Before Orientation and Enrollment
Please complete the following prior to your program:
☐ CREATE YOUR O-KEY AND EMAIL
To register for your Orientation and Enrollment program, you need your O-Key account information. If you haven’t activated your O-Key, which also establishes your OSU email address, visit okey.o state.edu and follow the activation steps.
Activating your O-Key credentials and setting up your official OSU email is essential to enrolling.
Access your OSU email. If you’ve forwarded your email to another personal email account, be sure to identify okstate.edu as a “safe sender” so you don’t miss any important information.
☐ CHOOSE YOUR OSU HOME
All freshmen are required to live in university-approved housing. Register for housing beginning Dec. 1. If you are a freshman, you will select your room as soon as you’ve paid your enrollment deposit and completed your housing contract. The enrollment deposit is required in order to complete your housing contract.
We encourage transfer students to live on campus to be close to classes and campus connections. Register for on-campus housing. The standard housing contract will need to be completed before selecting your room. If you choose to live off-campus, you can find more information here.
☐ REGISTER FOR YOUR PROGRAM
Orientation and enrollment is required for all new students. You can register for your program starting Tuesday, Feb. 1.
☐ TAKE THE MATH PLACEMENT EXAM
THE MATH PLACEMENT EXAM IS REQUIRED FOR:
- Students who will take their first college-level math course at OSU.
- Students who are not currently enrolled in a college-level math course OR any student who hasn’t earned any college-level math credit. (Note: beginning and intermediate algebra do not count as college-level math.)
- All students planning to pursue degrees within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology who have not completed pre-calculus.
THE MATH PLACEMENT EXAM IS NOT REQUIRED FOR:
- Students who already have college credit for the math courses required for their chosen degree program (these must be posted on a college transcript received by the OSU Office of Undergraduate Admissions).
Identify the best way to complete the exam based on your academic progress. Students should ensure exams are completed no later than 24 hours in advance of their orientation and enrollment program.
☐ COMPLETE YOUR COWBOY 360 MODULES
Complete the Cowboy 360 Modules before attending your orientation program. These interactive modules provide more information about campus resources and prepare you for orientation and enrollment.
